Accountant

Reports To: Program Director

Organization:

Kingdom Pathways, a Native Hawaiian nonprofit organization based in Waiʻanae, Oʻahu, seeks proposals from qualified accountants or accounting firms to provide financial management and reporting services. The selected accountant will ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations, maintain accurate records, and support budgeting and grant reporting needs.


Job Summary

The accountant will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing financial records and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
  • Preparing financial statements, reports, and tax filings (including Form 990).
  • Assisting with grant budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting to funders.
  • Providing recommendations for financial planning and sustainability.
  • Overseeing payroll processing and expense tracking.
  • Ensuring financial transparency and accountability.


Deliverables

  • Monthly Financial Reports – Including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Quarterly Grant Financial Reports – Tracking funds received, expenditures, and compliance with grant terms.
  • Annual Tax Filing & Compliance – Preparation and filing of necessary federal and state tax documents.
  • Budget Development Support – Assistance with creating and maintaining organizational and project-specific budgets.


Proposal Submission Requirements

Interested candidates should submit:

  • A brief company/individual background
  • Portfolio of relevant experience in nonprofit accounting.
  • A detailed proposal outlining services, approach, and pricing structure
  • Examples of past work with nonprofit organizations (if available).


Submission Deadline: March 24, 2025

 Location: Remote or Hybrid (Hawai‘i-based candidates preferred)
Contract-based compensation, determined by experience
